[Inscription]
Cloudy Wonder. Hengshan has the Hengzong Hall, and below it is the Sleeping Palace. This is the most beautiful part of the mountain. The palace is located halfway up a cliff in the Flying Stone Cave, built during the Northern Wei dynasty. From afar, it appears as if it floats in the clouds, hidden and visible at once. On the cliff is carved the inscription 'Cloudy Wonder.' The Ming poet Qiao Yu wrote: 'A red ladder rises a thousand feet to overlook the secluded rocks; the stone bridge connects the highest point.' Indeed, this place seems shaped by divine and ghostly hands, beyond human ability. Painted after returning from a visit to Taihang Mountain during the long summer of Yiyou by Chunbo, Chou Chen.
