If one knows all suffering, cuts off all its causes, realizes all cessation, and practices all paths, one will attain the eternal nirvana in this impermanent, decaying world. In this world, without protection or reliance, one becomes the protector and reliance for others. Why is this? Because the Dharma is without superiority or inferiority, one attains nirvana; because wisdom is equal, one attains nirvana; because liberation is equal, one attains nirvana; because purity is equal, one attains nirvana. Thus, nirvana has one taste, the taste of liberation. World Honored One, if the foundation of ignorance is not eradicated or brought to completion, one cannot attain the one taste, the taste of liberation. Why is this? If the foundation of ignorance is not eradicated or brought to completion, the countless afflictions like grains of sand cannot be eradicated or brought to completion. Because the countless afflictions are not eradicated or brought to completion, the countless truths to be attained and realized are not attained or realized.
